The Adelaide Hills, Alexandrina, Mount Barker, Barossa, Clare and Gilbert Valleys, Mid-Murray, Mitcham, Onkaparinga and Yankalilla councils are collaborating with Regional Development Australia Barossa and the the Centre for Global Food Studies and Resources at the University of Adelaide to pursue a joint World Heritage nomination.
The potential World Heritage area is yet to be defined but is based on the early South Australian survey areas in a series of landscapes stretching from the Clare Valley in the north to the Fleurieu Peninsula in the south.
